What is Star’s Great Cardboard Regatta?
Get ready to set sail — or sink trying! Star’s Great Cardboard Regatta is a family friendly event where teams build boats completely out of cardboard and duct tape (and maybe a dream) and race them across Freedom Park pond. No fancy yachts here — just pure imagination, lots of laughs, and a good chance of getting very, very wet.
Participants design their own vessels, hoping to stay afloat while out paddling their competition. Some boats are sleek and fast; others... well, let’s just say they make better submarines. And yes, there might be pirates — so keep an eye on the horizon!
Even better? It’s all for a good cause! The Great Cardboard Regatta is a fundraiser supporting the Star Food Bank, helping provide food and resources to families in our community. So come make some waves — and make a difference!
